Questions worth asking

Ownership & Cancellation
Do I own my website if I stop paying?+
You own all of your content and the design work. If you cancel the monthly plan, I'll package up your site files and hand them over within 30 days. You'll need to arrange your own hosting — I'll point you in the right direction. Nothing is locked away or held hostage.
What happens if I want to cancel my monthly plan?+
Just give 30 days notice — no tricks, no termination fees. I'll hand over your site files so you can host it yourself or take it to another developer. I'd rather you leave on good terms than feel stuck paying for something you don't want.
Is there a long-term contract?+
No contracts. The monthly hosting and support plan runs month-to-month. You can cancel anytime with 30 days notice. The upfront build fee is a one-time payment for work already done — that's yours to keep regardless.
Getting Started
Do I need to buy my own domain?+
No — if you don't have one yet, there are domains available on sites such as GoDaddy and Namecheap (typically $10–30/year, billed directly to you). If you already have one, I'll connect it. Either way, the domain is yours — not mine. If you're not ready to purchase a domain yet, I can launch on a temporary subdomain while you decide.
What do you need from me to get started?+
Once you're ready to move forward, I'll send a short intake form. You'll need: your logo or branding (or let me know if you need one), any photos of your business or products, your key details (hours, address, contact info), and some visual inspiration. I'll walk you through everything — no guessing on your end.
How long does it actually take?+
Most sites are ready to review within 2–3 weeks from project kickoff. The timeline depends mainly on how quickly I gather your content — photos, text, hours, etc. That's usually the bottleneck, not the build itself. Premium projects with 8 pages typically take 3–4 weeks.
Changes & Support
What if I need changes after launch?+
Any changes after launch are quoted based on the size of the work — there's no mystery pricing. A small text update is a quick, low-cost fix. A new page or feature is scoped and priced before anything gets started. You'll always know what something costs before I touch it.
What if I'm not happy with the design?+
I start with a discovery conversation and intake form so I understand your vision before building anything. You'll get at least one full revision round — more on Standard and Premium plans. My goal is that you're genuinely happy with the result, not just "fine with it." If something's off, I fix it.
Do I get to see the site before it goes live?+
Yes — always. You'll review a staging version of your site and request any changes before anything goes public. You have full sign-off. The site only goes live when you say it does.
Pricing
Why is there an upfront cost plus a monthly fee?+
The upfront build fee covers the design, development, and launch of your site — real work done once. The monthly fee keeps everything running: hosting, SSL, security, and ongoing support. It's a fair split so you're not paying forever for work that's already done, and you're not left with a site nobody maintains.
Can I upgrade my plan later?+
Yes. If you start on Starter and want to move to Standard or Premium down the road, I can scope the additional work and quote the upgrade. You're not locked into your launch plan forever.
